Who is David Fowler you ask?David Fowler is a 9 time World Acrylic Nail Champion – he began doing nails over twenty years ago and rose through the ranks earning a spot to work with Hollywood Actresses and Musicians like Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Madonna and Halle Berry. He is experienced in consumer press photo shoots with supermodels and top celebrity events like the Oscars, the Grammy’s, and live on air television sales, David is known today as an industry icon and educator that shares all of his knowledge and experience with nail professionals worldwide.
Our Head of Education Tracey Owgan has been trained by David Fowler in South Africa and in Germany. In fact, David has educated all of our current Trainers and has helped them to impliment his nail training system at all Image Cartel Campuses.

All of our Nail Trainers are passionate about the Nail Industry and have a minimum of five years experience working as a Nail Tech. Every year, all of our Trainers must attend a compulsory five day refresher course and an International Train-the Trainer event. All of this to make sure our Trainers are on the cutting edge so that you get the very best Nail Courses possible. Most of our Trainers have won local Nail Competitions at Professional Beauty and our Head of Education, Tracey Owgan has won multiple International Nail Competitions. Each Nail Trainer contributes to your success by providing product knowledge, application techniques and valuable post graduation assistance to enrich your nail technology skills.
#3Nail Training always comes with a Business in a Box
Every student receives a complete Nail Training Kit that is tailor made to the specific nail course they are studying.
Nail Kits always contains full Salon size products. Most Nail Academies only give you sample products which run out during training. Then they catch you because now you have to buy more products just to finish your training. At the Image Cartel there are no surprises or hidden costs because your kit comes will all the tools and products to complete the course and more.
After your training, to help you through the start-up phase of your nail business, in the event that you need to purchase any additional technical Acrylic, Gel and Gelpolish products, all students get 10% discount off of the online purchase of technical products for 4 months after they graduate.

#4 We use better nail training methods
Did you know that many schools facilitate nail training in a working salon while the trainer sits doing a set of nails on a paying client. Training is interrupted by phone calls and passing trade. Because we are a dedicated Nail School, our nail training takes place in a dedicate classroom, with no distractions or interruptions in your education.
We train with specialised Nail Trainer Hands
The Image Cartel is one of the very few Nail Academy's that uses a “Nail Trainer” as part of the training process. The Nail Trainer is just like a real hand with movable wrist and finger joints. The fingertips on the Nail Trainer can be removed and different size and shape nail beds can be attached simulating a finger. Your initial training is facilitated using the hand until basic techniques have been mastered. Then – you move on to live models.
We train using the very best technology
Despite having small classes of only 8 -12 Learners, the Image Cartel uses specialised desktop projectors to project the step by step nail training onto a high definition screen. Whether the trainer is demonstrating a new filing technique, showing product application or examining the anatomy of a fingernail – you always get to see in high-definition exactly what a trainer is doing on the nail.
